Since its foundation, the CEA has maintained a close working relationship with the Council of the Americas, an organization with headquarters in New York that serves as a permanent advisor to the US Government in its relations with Latin America.
Currently, the CEA has an important number of affiliated companies that represent the most significant sectors of the economy, including agriculture, food, tobacco & beverage; automotive, machinery & equipment; chemical & agrochemical; communications & information technology; consumer products; energy; external auditing, consulting & professional services; insurance, banking & fiduciary; manufacturing, paper, cardboard & textile; pharmaceutical-medical equipment; security and transportation.
The permanent effort to protect American investment and promote the interests of our members, as well as the importance of our members to the Colombian economy have made CEA a recognized leader among local business organizations, the Colombian Government and U.S. authorities in Colombia.
In addition to providing informative services to our members regarding current legal and economic issues through monthly events featuring the participation of representatives of the Colombian and U.S. public sectors, our organization constantly strives to identify new programs and take advantage of new opportunities to benefit our members.
In order to maintain an active participation in the country on issues important to our membership, the CEA has formed committees in the areas of economy and legislation, communications technology, external relations and foreign investment, environment, intellectual property, transportation, security and social responsibility.
Currently, the CEA, in conjunction with the U.S. EMBASSY, the Colombian government and the key local business organizations, is leading new projects and initiatives that are of vital interest to our members.
